Welcome to Class 1!
To our ten Year 1 children, WELCOME BACK!, we hope that you have had a wonderful summer and can't wait to welcome you back to the classroom as Year 1's.
We also have twenty new Reception children joining us, we are very excited to get to know you, and for you to get to know us!
Autumn 1 - All About Me
This half term, as the title of our topic suggests, we are focusing on ourselves and our local environment.
We will be learning about maps, how to read and create them, ending by using our newly acquired knowledge and skills to create a map of Mylor.

Autumn 2 - One Giant Leap
We will have a History focus in our topic lessons this half term. We will learn all about the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong, as well as looking at the space race between the USA and Russia.
Within our History lessons, we will learn about Neil Armstrong's life as well as the moon landing itself. This will allow us several opportunities to learn about and plot timelines.
